This service can only be preformed by Consular officers from Australia. 

An affidavit is a written statement that allows the person making it to present evidence in court or other legal proceedings. The person making the affidavit must take an oath or make an affirmation that the contents of the affidavit are true and correct.

Power of attorney is a formal document giving another person the authority to make legally binding decisions on your behalf. 

What to bring;
- Your completed UNSIGNED document 
- Instructions from your lawyer/solicitor (if applicable)
- Passport or photo ID

Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday afternoons only.

We can witness your signature on some land, mortgage or property documents, make certified copies and complete the DFAT Identity Certificate.

We cannot:
- provide legal advice.
- witness signatures on documents issued by Banks.

Things to bring to your appointment:
- printed instructions from your Australian legal practitioner.
- your unsigned documents for witnessing.
- original identity documents to be certified.
- identification that contains your photo and signature (i.e. passport).

The Consulate can complete the DFAT Identity Certificate for land, property or mortgage transactions. The Consulate will NOT sign any other 'Identifiers Certificates' or 'Verification of Identity Certificates'. Check your requirements with your Australian representative and ask them if you need a DFAT Identity Certificate before visiting the Australian Consulate.

The Consulate can only witness an Australian Statutory Declaration for use in Australia by an Australian entity.

The Consulate can not witness Statutory Declarations to be used to support marriage in China or the transfer of Chinese land/property.

Statutory Declarations should be written in English, however clients may include their own translation within the space provided prior to signing.

You must bring identification containing both your signature and photograph (eg your passport) so we can verify your identity and signature on any documents you sign.

You must bring a completed (but unsigned) CNI application form and your passport, your partner’s Chinese passport or ID, your divorce certificate OR the death certificate of your former spouse, and your partner’s divorce certificate OR the death certificate of their former spouse. Any divorce certificate OR death certificate not in English need to be translated in full by a registered translation service.

Certificate of No Impediment to Marriage 婚姻无障碍证明

Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday afternoons only.

This service is provided with the following wording “this is a true copy of the document presented to me”. We cannot provide alternative wording.

It is your responsibility to ensure that the end user of the certified copy of a document will accept the copy. 

What we can certify:
- Australian original documents.
- Foreign original documents for use in Australia. 

What we cannot certify:
- Documents for visa and migration purposes. 
- Foreign documents for use outside of Australia.
- Laminated or framed documents.

What to bring:
- Your original document for certification.
- Evidence of why the certified document is required. 
- Proof of identity (Passport, Chinese ID).

University Document

You can submit original university documents for us to legalise, once verified by the university.

You need to contact your university to verify your original degree as a 'true and accurate record'. This could be available via an online portal.

Apostilles and authentications will be issued within 5 business days.
